la villa

Originally built in the 1200’s, still at its best today

12 SLEEPS | 6 BEDROOMS | 6 BATHROOMS | 200 MQ | ON THE OUTSIDE GARDEN & POOL

La Villa was built in the 13th century. It has been restored to the beautiful comfortable home it is today, leaving many original features. The walls of Tower over the Master bedroom belong to that time, still. La Villa is on two floors: the living area on the ground floor, the old wine cellars, now a in-house museum, and olive oil tasting room on the lower floor.

The entrance leads you through a large stone portal dating back to the renaissance into an impressive comfortable reception area which boasts high wooden beamed ceilings and antique furniture. The ceilings are impressively high, and a big genealogic tree painting stands on the impressive Fireplace of this room. The number of sofas and paintings make this space of the Villa very sumptuous and welcoming.

A smaller Living room is connected with the main one: three sofas, a reading table and TV setting, including a nice stone fireplace, directly connected with the outside garden as well, with the alfresco dining and with the pool. It is also connected with a large Dining room: over 20 people can dine inside here, with rounded tables or in U-Shape. The room features a large fireplace and some trompe l’oeil paintings on the walls; this dining room is also connected to the garden outside, other than to the Kitchen.

The Kitchen is modern and fully furnished with pottery, cutleries, oven, microwave oven, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, coffee blender and any other amenity that may be needed for your stay in Tuscany, including two service tables, chairs and a spectacular view over the valley. The place is ideal for Cooking classes, featuring a marble plan (extremely useful for homemade pasta or bread!) and such a spectacular view over the Tuscan olive groves!

The Villa is completely plastic-free: fresh water and milk are served in reusable glass bottles. At the same level of the dining room and kitchen there is a service bathroom on the corridor, nice and cozy. The corridor leads into the bedrooms area: the bedroom don’t have air conditioning, but all of them are connected with the garden outside, or feature a large patio and window.

External Area

As in all medieval villas, there is a small internal courtyard. The old cellars, restored but not in use for wine making, now house a museum of old findings from around the area, a wine and olive oil tasting room where light lunches and dinners may be served and an original exhibition of olive wood trinkets and bowls made by Mikele, the owners son.

garden & pool

The garden is enclosed by ancient and majestic walls, large lemon trees in Tuscan terra-cotta pots, beautiful rose gardens, large shady trees to sit under while reading a book, meditating, yoga or just falling asleep. The alfresco dining area is open on all four sides and can accommodate over 20 people seated for lunch or dinner. Sofas and additional chairs are also located in the garden, offering a comfortable area to relax.
Through the wall of the garden, divided by an old iron gate, sits the private swimming pool: its size is 12mt x 6mt, with a depth of 1.33 mts dotted with sunbathing beds, umbrellas, roses and fruit trees.

ORIGINALLY BUILT ON THE MEDIEVAL AGE (1200 C.A.) AND RESTORED MANY TIMES EVER SINCE.
THE WALLS OF TOWER OVER THE MASTER BEDROOM BELONG TO THAT TIME, STILL.
